More Smiles
@blackrosesnyc x @parkdaleroadrunners
For my second race, this course was incredible from asphalt to sand to grass - my feet really enjoyed the different terrains. My legs felt rather heavy since this was my longest run for a while, tried changing my mind by telling myself "It should feel like flying so lift your legs - be aware of your posture and shake out your arms" (thinking of @blackrosesnyc Track Nights when I tried hanging tight to @swafflesnyc and shook off the tension whenever she did). To be short - I had a great time experiencing this among many other amazing women and men - I enjoyed being out there again and running not walking or limping even though I could feel my hips, knees and ankles aching - probably telling me: "You better train!" What made me happier though was seeing old and new friends finishing with bright eyes and smiles on their faces.
